Northern Steel Doorsets.
A
range of quality steel doorsets designed for internal and external use, to cover
a wide range of applications including personnel doors, fire resistant doors,
escape doors, entrance doors and security doors.
Doorsets are factory
prepared to receive ironmongery and are light and easy to handle on site, but
are able to withstand heavy use and long exposure to the elements.
Fire
resistant doorsets are tested to BS 476: Part 22 (1987) by the Loss prevention
Council and are available as single or double leaf arrangements with up to 4
hours fire resistance.

Leaf
Constructed from 2 skins of 1.2mm thick zinc coated steel, joined
by a strong, concealed mechanical seam to provide panel strength and rigidity.
For extra strength, the void between the skins is infilled with a bonded
honeycomb core material offering excellent compression/torsional load
performance. Strategic reinforcement areas are incorporated to enable a wide
range of ironmongery to be fitted.
Frames
Pressed from 1.6mm thick
zinc coated steel to form a double or single rebate profile. Headers are fully
profiled for a smooth butt-joint with the vertical frame posts and are
reinforced to suit door closers. Optional extras include aluminium threshold and
tubular silicone rubber seal bonded into frame rebate. Frame seals, combined
with an aluminium threshold ensures accurate sealing between door leaf and
frame.
Finishes
All doors and frames receive one coat of
self-etching primer as standard, prior to dispatch. Alternatively, doors and
frames can be supplied factory finished in any standard BS 4800 of RAL
colour.
Hardware
A wide range of ironmongery is available as
standard. Alternatively, doorsets may be prepared to suit the Clients own
ironmongery requirements. It is recommended, however, that Northern Doors own
ironmongery is used for fire resisting doorsets to ensure the fire resisting
performance is maintained.
Consult with Northern Doors (UK) Ltds technical
literature for details. Northern Doors can also provide a design and
specification advisory service and it is recommended that they be consulted
early in the design process.
