Northern Overhead Doors.
A range of insulated and glazed overhead doors designed for industrial units, storage
buildings, modern vehicle workshops, showrooms, fire and ambulance stations and other
applications where an easy to operate, strong weatherproof door is required. The door
design allows various panel arrangements, glazing infill to provide maximum transmission
of natural light, thermally insulated panels or a combination of both panel type. Each
door is custom manufactured to suit most types of structural openings and designed to give
a smooth quiet operation whilst still retaining a neat self contained appearance.
Four models are available:
Standard Headroom
Minimum clearance for door gear: 500mm.
Vertical Lift
Minimum clearance for door gear: Opening height + 800mm.
High Lift
Minimum clearance for door gear: 1675 (standard), up to 3305mm for specials.
Low Headroom
Minimum clearance for door gear: 230mm
Dimensions:
Maximum height: 5500mm (3650mm for low headroom model).
Maximum width: 6500mm (6000mm for low headroom model).
Weight: 20 kg/m² of door opening.
U-value: 0.47 W/m² through the panel, giving an overall figure on a 16 m² door of 0.5
W/m².

HP200 Plastisol range of colours (subject to avalibilty) or Polyester Stucco finish (subject to avalibility)
Insulated Panel
Galvanised steel inner and outer face infilled with cfc free
polyurethane foam. Each panel has a male/female anti-finger trap joint,
with a compressible rubber gasket seal, forms a total thermal and
weatherproof joint. The panels are ribbed and each end enclosed with a
galvanised reinforcing cap for even greater strength and durability.

Glazed Panel
Glazed frame sections formed from aluminium anodised extruded sections. Standard glazing
is 3mm Plexiglas. Double glazed units are available with a 16mm cavity as an optional
extra.
Vertical And Horizontal Tracks
Tracks and mounting angles are made of heavy gauge cold rolled galvanised steel
manufactured to suit site conditions.
Hinges And Roller Assemblies
Both hinges and roller brackets are manufactured from high quality stainless steel
ensuring clean operation and long life. the rollers are sealed for life bearings, nylon
coated to give extremely quiet and smooth operation.
Operation
On doors up to 12 m², operation is normally push-up and pull-down. Doors in excess of 12
m² are by handchain or electric drive. Optional electric operation is by fractional 415V,
3 phase motor with limit switches and emergency hand operation in case of power failure.
Standard ‘up’, ‘down’ and ‘stop’ control box with thermal
overload protection.
Counter Balance
Each door is individually balanced using high tensile helical springs mounted on bright
steel shafts running in ball races. The counterbalance is transmitted by high quality
steel cables, attached to aluminium cable drums above the opening and each side of the
bottom panel.
Seals
Weather seals are fitted as standard to all jambs, head and sills, giving total draught
and weather protection.
Security
A shoot locking bolt is fitted as standard but various locking arrangements are available
on request.
Pull Handles
Fitted to inside and outside of bottom panel.
Wicket Gate
Optional extra with lock and 2 keys.
Vision Panels
May be fitted as an extra and are 600mm wide x 300mm deep acrylic double glazed units
in profiled rubber frame.
