A significant growth in Carlsberg's share in the UK beer market and to cope with demand during the 2006 World Cup resulted in capital investments to the Leeds brewery to increase ‘small pack' (bottles) packaging capacity.
Northern Doors were awarded the contract to supply and install a complete package of 9no. Mavifold High-Speed Fold Up doors, 9no. Sectional Overhead doors, 5no. Safeguard, 76 Roller Shutters, 15no. Steel Hinged Fire Exit Doors, 3no. 2 hour Fire Resistant Steel doors, 1no. Norfydor 2 hour Fire Resistant Roller Shutters.
Some of the Mavifold High-Speed doors were fitted to the bottling conveyor system. These doors were interlocked with the conveyor to sense when a pack of bottles approaches. The door opens and closes after the bottles travel through the opening to the dispatch area.
